Chhattisgarh Government Takes Strong Stance Against Private Schools
The Chhattisgarh government has issued a stern warning to private schools in the state against denying admissions to students under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The move comes after several complaints were received regarding private schools refusing to admit students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The RTE Act, which was enacted in 2009, mandates that all private schools reserve 25% of their seats for students from economically weaker sections of society. However, many private schools in Chhattisgarh have been flouting this rule, leaving many students without access to quality education.
Government Cracks Down on Non-Compliant Schools
In a bid to curb this practice, the Chhattisgarh government has warned private schools that failure to comply with the RTE Act will result in severe consequences, including cancellation of their recognition and affiliation. The government has also instructed district education officers to conduct regular inspections of private schools to ensure compliance with the Act.
The move has been welcomed by education activists and parents, who have been struggling to secure admissions for their children in private schools. With the government's crackdown, many hope that private schools will now be forced to adhere to the RTE Act and provide quality education to all students, regardless of their socio-economic background.
Dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep.
